Today, more than ever, we live in a global village.
Advances in technology allow many of us to communicate across vast distances, collapsing time and space between ourselves and our loved ones in an instant. But seeing and hearing each other cannot replace being together. That’s why we each carry forward the rituals and traditions of a Christmas celebrated in our homes and communities.
For some of us, the festive season lasts a week whilst for others in our neighbourhood, Christmas is a month long festival that starts with Advent on 27 November and ends on January 6 with the feast of Epiphany.
The theme for this year’s event is 'Joy to the world’ because wherever and whenever you celebrate, Christmas is always about those whom we care most about and how we express our love through all the little things we do.
